We will begin our day with a tour of the Galveston County Museum where we will learn about the history of Galveston through artifacts and pictures. There are sections about architecture and much about the 1900 flood.
GALVESTON.COM: Historical Marker: 1860-70 The Strand - Galveston, TX
Next our bus will drop us off at the Strand for 2 ½ hours of sightseeing, shopping, and dining. One option is The Fisherman’s Wharf, located at 2200 Harborside; a short walk from the Strand, but there are many options to choose from among the shops on the Strand itself.
After lunch we will meet back up at the bus around 2pm and head back to Houston with a possible stop at our beloved Buc-cee’s.
Cost $5 which covers the tips.
Payment and reservations are due by Friday, Aug.23rd. Please be at the church by 8:30 am. We should be back about 4pm.
